Thread: Marriage certificates

Can anyone offer advice please.

I have a marriage cert of my 2x grt grandparents in 1888.The brides father is noted on the certificate but does not have the word "deceased" on it but i believe I have his death certificate in 1872.All the other marraige certs i have ( though later than 1888) do seem to state whether the father is alive or not.How accurate was this?
