Hi Mary,

My Gt Grandmother was Jessie Margaret Keiller, it was rumoured that she was of the Keiller marmalade family, she lived in London at the time of her marriage in 1921 and her parents were David and Mary, trying to find any info I can about them, but it was great to read the history of good ole marmalade!

Hi, this is fantastic!!!

I can confirm that Olive was the youngest daughter of Jessie Margaret Keiller, she was born I believe in Islington, and is still alive and well today! Jessie had 3 older girls Molly, Jessica (My Gran) and Joan. All 3 older girls were born in Belfast County Antrim, and have all sadly died in the last 10 years.

As far as Im aware though Jessie Margarets parents were David Gall Keiller and Mary?

P.S as stated on Jessie Margarets marriage certificate her father was David Gall Keiller and was a mechanical engineer.

She died in 1964 in Chigwell, and she apparently had a half sister Florrie, who married Henry Clements.

I dont know much more about the Keiller family as family legend says that Jessie was disinherited by her family for marrying beneath her, Im hoping to find out whats true or not.

Thankyou for that amazing information Marion, Ive tried for years, to find out about Jessie.

Would you have any information regarding her husband Joseph McClay McClinton?

He was a year or so younger than Jessie and born in County Antrim and I can trace his family back so far, but Im interested to know when he died, did he remarry, and about his military career.

I know at the time of his marriage he was a Trooper in the Life Guards at Hyde Park Barracks, but how long for and did he serve in any other regiments?

Also rumoured to have been a policeman at some stage?
