Thread: look up please

Would anyone be kind enough to do a 1851 census look up please. i have a subscription to find my past but the 1851 census isnt complete. Hugh Riley/Riley born abt 1828 and his wife is Elizabeth they have 1 daughter mary born Knutsford Cheshire in 1850. In other censuses they are in Macclesfield, Cheshire and Knutsford Cheshire. Thanks.

on the 1881 census it states she is born in ireland, yet on the details says nutsford inferior

Thanks very much for looking for me, The christian names do add up, but i have mary`s birth certificate and she was born in August 1850 which would make her 7months old and it says on the census she was 4months old, but it could be them. Thanks very much indeed.

mrs p2008. on closer inspection of your info. i think the ridleys were rileys as ridley isnt even an irish name and the 4mths could well be 6mths . thanks again. regards sheila

sadie they may live in Macclesfield, Cheshire and Knutsford but on the census image it states the dad the mum and daughter were born in ireland

Hi there, it changes through the censuses have found marys birth certificate and it says she was born knutsford cheshire . 1871 says born knutsford 1881 says ireland and after that always Knutsford. Thanks for pointing it out though Regards Sadies.

Noggin 28, Thanks for that, The elusive James Moran!!!! we have that marriage cert, which states his fathers name is Thomas Moran. However, there is no trace of James in any census before the marriage and whats more curious AFTER!!! he must return home from time to time as Mary keeps reproducing!!!! we have assumed he is a navvy and was working away somewhere, possibly the Manchester ship canal which was beeing dug at this time, he must have died between 1881 and 1891 as in 1891 Mary is a widow, but cant find his death on Free BMD or Cheshire BMD....The other theory is that scotty beamed him up after beaming him down in 1871 just in time to get wed!!!!!?????
