    Hi

Not tracked any burial info yet but as IGI records that their children William Graham and Annie Agnes were both born in Papakura – could this be James’ and Mary’s house?

Quote “Rosebrae is a genuine article, originally built in the 1870's by James and Mary Rhind, a well known pioneering family. James was the manager of the local Kauri mill.”

Do you know what James’ trade was?

Might be worth focusing on record sources for Papakura as they may throw up some interesting clues.

    Hi Jean

The 1851 census for Morayshire is on FreeCEN, and there is in Elgin a James Rhind (24) and a Mary Winchester (20) who father had a Mary Rhind as a servant, on there. There are several James & Mary's on there. Worth a look though.

    Regards
