Hello
Did Thomas George BRISTOW then marry Harriett TRICEHURST in 1855 Newington?
Elsabels

Hello
Thomas G Married Caroline 1852 she (presume) died 1855, therefore she will not appear on Census with husband,
BUT if you look at marriages in Newington, there is the one above and they are on 1861 census with an 8 year old daughter Eliza , b 1853 yet Thomas & Harriett did not marry until 1855 so is this thomas's child with Caroline and he remarried Harriett?
Thomas G could have died 1870
His father may have been John Bristow
Elsabels
Thanks for lookups. The death for Caroline is proably correct-right age and right place.
I know almost nothing for Thomas. The marriage register gives his age as 23, he was a bricklayer, his father's name was John and he lived beside Caroline.
In 1851 Caroline lived with her mother Elizabeth and sister Eliza. In 1851 Caroline was transcribed as EDMOND.

Hello
Check 1861 census RG9 321
Thomas G BRISTOW is a brick layer aged 31 b Margate Kent
dau Eliza Bristow aged 8 b City of london (1853), this seems to fit with Caroline's family.......
wife HARRIETT aged 36 Bride Surrey
Conclusion 2nd wife child of first marriage!
Will have a look round for other info
Elsabels
Thanks Elsabels
I agree that Eliza was daughter of Caroline and that Thomas died 1870.
Much appreciated
Ed
