About LinkBacksHi I am trying to find the birth for John Lumley. I think he was born in Reeth, about 1830. He was certainly married to Margaret Proud in 1853. Sadly he seems to have died before the 1861 census. Any help would be much appreciated. Sue

can see the marriage in 1853 - have you the certificate? that would confirm father etc
this appears to be his death

Hi thanks for replying so quickly. Reeth is in North Yorkshire, near Richmond. There is a John Lumley living in nearly the right area in 1861 but I am not sure that he is the right one. The family tree belongs to my husband and we are going to Canada next year and I would have liked to have taken a tree for his aunt to have. I just seem to be stuck on this man. Hope you can help. Sue

Sorry that should have read 1851 not 1861. I don't have any certs but I do know that his wife and family lived long after his death.
