Thread: Benjamin(Bengaman)Richardson help please

Hi im looking for information regarding my family history i've be researching for about 1 year now and i have come to a stumbling block the records i have on my great great grandad is that he was born in 1848 in hannah yorkshire his name is benjamin Richardson although census records show him as bengaman richardson parents unknown census records show he was a farm labourer he married mary jane wales and lived in south side north frodingham according too records he died in december 1888 which made him 40 when past any information on him or his parents or the farm he worked or information surrounding his death would be most grateful many thanks pete.

im not sure of Hannah In Yorkshire but the 1881 census shows his birth place as here could possibly a miss spelling but the marraige records of them marrying in 1876 in Driffield are correct

I have had a look at the various sites but with no luck!



Thought...

1) the marriage certificate or if in the local church ( Driffield Parish Records)will give you the ages at marriage, status Bach Spinster /Widow etc, job, and father's name and whether deceased....

Both have a child before this marriage, were either married before

2) Benjamin appears to have John W b circa 1871 Leavening so could he be married before this date

3) Mary has Sarah Jane Wales who may have been born Dec 1874 with the birth registered at Guisboro ( Freebmd) looking ofr MAry J Wales may prove fruitless in the years 1851 - 1871

have I got the wrong chap? I've found Benjamin Richardson and wife Mary Jane in 1881 and Ben's birthplace is Batley, Yorkshire.



1851 has Ben Richardson abt 1848 Batley, Yorkshire, England Nephew Batley, Yorkshire



The head of the household is presumably his uncle, also Benjamin Richardson, born 1819 Mirfield Yorkshire.

Searcher has found the family he is searching on 1881 census, some of the members appear to originate form Leavening....



or have I missed something?
