have checked freebmd over and over again and found Mary Kirton birth like a few more that could be the one we are looking for, only to find they are not.
Hello Russell54
Yep, you may be right on this, but if there is something 'iffy' about the birth there may not be a baptism entry!

Hello Elsabels
yes I was thinking that too.
Hello
Gosh it is that long ago since i got married I cannot remember if I nreeded to produce my b/cert or not!
In the 1920-30's it was still acceptable to produce a baptism certificate in lieu of a berth cert......
I think if MAry was not a child of the family it may have said foster / adopted or someother desc. It could be that she is the dau of the of the mother, the father being a step father......etc
Re read the foregoing....have you already looked at the MAry KIRTON birth cert mentioned above?
Is the family shown on the 1911 census the family you are interested in?
There is a Eliza CAXTON March 1902 tynemouth any help?
Elsabels
Hi
I think the birth certificate for Mary Claxton had been ordered, then Mary was found on the 1911 census with her family, which is not the family in question.
Thanks for the Eliza Caxton birth i shall look it into and past it on.
Thanks
Yes not unusual for family to take in family babies, particularly if the marriage appears to be childless!
A word of caution, I get the impression that there is living person here.....and these sites are quite public.....maybe you need to see how this can be deal with fairly 'privately'
Elsabels
Yes it could be the case here.
i get your point and have edit my last message.
thanks again for help.
