Thread: Please help me find William and Mary Pickard

Hi folks,



I am up against a brick wall here. Could someone help me find out if there was a marraige between William Pickard and Mary Farquhar. They had their children in Sileby Leicstershire. Mary Farquhar was actually born in Strichen, Aberdeenshire. Mary was born 1762. How she ended up in Sileby, i don't know.



There is a chance she might have been widowed later and then married a John Landon in Sileby in 1819. I don't know if that was her or no.



Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a go and cant find anything either. Possibly the records havent been put online yet. I cant even find any Mary Farquhar's marrying in Leicestershire so they may have married elsewhere.

Its so frustrating to not find anything at all. I think i will start looking for John Landon in Sileby and his marraige to a Mary Pickard in 1819. It might be my Mary or even her daughter. If its my Mary, then she would have been 57yrs old.

I've had look at the 1851 cenus and there's a John Landon married to a Mary born in Leicestershire living in West Bromwich. John born abt 1803 and Mary born abt 1807. They have three young children. The daughter perhaps?

I don't think thats my Marys daughter. She was born in 1792 in Sileby. I guess this is always going to be a brick wall unless more data is transcribed.

dont know if I can be of he1p- this is genera1 research and goes back a bit before your dates but might he1p with back ground knowedge.



There are 1ots of Farquhar in Strtitchen Aberdeen from 1726 - 1762



William farquhar married Isobe11 Ga 21 Nov 1762



and another

William farquhar married Jean Cruckshank 19 aug 1750



then in 1eics I found



William Pickard - 9march 1806 in Sie1by 1eics. born to and William and Mary Pickard

William Pickard - 16 Feb 1734 in Sieby eics. born to William and Mary Pickard - she was Mary Brewin

William 1706 Mary Brewin 1712 married 1 may 1734 in Sie1by 1eics

Thanks for your reply. You are spot on with the Strichen connection. My Mary was born to William Farquhar and Isabel Gall. Mary was born November 1762.



William (1806) in Sileby is my 3x Gt Grandparent.



I wonder if the William born 1734 is My William who married Mary from Strichen? That would have made him around 28yrs older than her.
