    Default help with brickwall please

hi, here is my problem it looks better explained

right here is my problem I have No relatives to ask about this. My great grandfather was james hurst born 1882 blackrod his father was john hurst born on census records as 1847 bolton. married to catherine she was catherine jackson born 1856-7 liverpool. her mum was mary hall born 1834 dublin..married to george jackson born 1825 nottinghamshire. they married in 1853 nottinghamshire. I have the marriage certificate only. it says marys dad was john hall georges dad was joseph jackson. right should be easy but its not someone on ancestry who's researching same family has sent for catherines brother george jackson cert born 1863 hull. its stumped me and them as the name of mother to george is mary Clandinnan and george jackson father? I cant get catherines birth cert as I dont have details of her birth only it was 1856-7 liverpool. there is no trace of john hall or joseph jackson on census and how can marriage details say nottinghamshire and hall yet childrens birth cert as Clandinnan am so brick walled and only a learner. the other problem is with grt grandfather john hurst catherines husband which is another long story as register office say they have no birth registered yet its on census record as john hurst born bolton 1847 father james hurst. twist is on he and catherines marriage cert it says john is born 1849 bolton father james. the only family that the register office have is a james and sarah but there john is still with his aged parents in 1891 my john was married to catherine then? am so bewildered thinking of giving it all up ps in 1841 census mary hall and her sisters live with thomas hall who I think is grandfather.xx

I have looked for marriages for John Hurst and a 'Catherine' in the Bolton area and came up with this. It is the only one listed between 1869 -1875 :

    Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep

I assume this is the 1881 census you refer to. I think the John and Catherine are the same people in each census. Mary Jackson would have been only 14/15 if she was Catherines Mother she is only 4 years older than John Hurst. This needs some figuring out.

    1881 England Census

Name: Mary Jackson Age: 39 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1842

Relation: Mother in Law Gender: Female

    Where born: Dublin, Ireland

Civil parish: Blackrod County/Island: Lancashire Country: England

    Street Address: Reed Terr

Condition as to marriage: Windower (Widower)

    Occupation: Widow Of A Contractor

Registration district: Wigan Sub-registration district: Aspull

    Household Members: Name Age

    John Hurst 34

    Cathrine Hurst 24

    Mary Jackson 39

    George Jackson 19

    Margaret Jackson 15

    Margaret Hurst 3

    Edward France 26

    Mary Hurst 7
