Thread: 1871 look up plz

MARY ELIZABETH BROOME BORN 1863/4 PEMBROKE, COUNTY PEMBROKESHIRE, REG OFFICE PEMBROKE, on her wedding cert states her dads name was richard broome her mum was mary thomas when she got wed her dad was already deceased, so am stuck

The only possibility I could find was this one. It is possible the enumerator made a mistake with the surname as it definately says Brown. I also realise that the Martha doesn't match either! However, just to back up my theory, I've searched for this 'Mary Brown' on other censuses and cannot find her. I also found Mary Broome on the 1881 census, who states her place of birth as Pembroke Dock. Steynton is about 6 miles from there.

yes steynton is 6 miles, but my dad who was born in neyland this side of the water had his birth registered in pembroke, pembroke dock is the other side of the water, boulston is up the river pembroke side, i love it when a plan comes together

I know what you mean about the norfolk dialect-I'm a Norfolk Dumpling born and bred!

yes thank you bandit i have this and couldnt understand how mrs p found her as brown i think i maybe be wrong cud it be her dad was deceased on her wedding cert because she was illigitamate i cant find a death for her dad. they didnt come from a farming background, i am grateful though mrs p, all help is gratefully recieved, i will send off for her birth certificate was hoping i wouldnt have too and then i will say what i find
