Hello,
I am a bit stuck with this part of my family tree.
Jacob Keeling was born c1818 in Chilcomb, Winchester, Hampshire.
He married Elizabeth Phillips in 1846 in Winchester.
He was the inkeeper at Winchester's Jolly Farmer pub in the 1840s/50s/60s.
They both lived there and had several children.
Interestingly, the pub still exists today, as I visited a couple of months ago.
I suspect that his father was another Jacob Keeling, who married somebody called Emmy, or Emma, and that they were both born in about 1796.
Is it possible for anybody to confirm that for me?
It would be magnificent if somebody could come up with Jacob senior's parents too.
I know of a couple of Keeling families from the Hampshire area around the time, and I would love to be able to connect them up.
Thanks for any clues!![]()
