certificate would give name of informant and might shed light on whether he was married or not. there doesnt appear to be a marriage between 1901 census and 1907 when he died.

is this a possible for 1891 -he is a hawker in lodgings??

On the census for 1891 refer to in last posting Charles was in the St Alves Chambers according to the census. This is what was written across the top of the Original Doc. ' Return of all persons who slept or abode this Institution on the night of Sunday April 16th 1891' it was a place for people of no fixed abode to lodge. His place of birth is listed as Newcastle on Tyne (transcript error being Newcastle, Northamptonshire)
