I'm researching my Middleton family history but not getting very far so any and all help would be appreciated.

Walter Middleton my grandfather b. circa 1910. His wife Esther Swan b. also circa 1910 in Canning town London. They were married in West Ham east London some time in 1935.

Walters parents were James Middleton b. circa 1880, Merchant seaman London docks. May have had a connection with Abby arms London. And his wife Flo ? b. circa 1880.

As you see details are a bit sketchy,

Could this be James' family in 1881, seeing as he was born c1880. I couldn't find any other one by this name & age who was born in London on the 1881 census.

Hi Mike,

I was born in Westham so have a good understanding of the place..Canning Town the Abbey Arms know it well. Here is the marriage for Swan to Middleton.. One of the main churches around the Victoria Docks is the Ascension..It still stands although from what I am told closed its doors many years ago...Below is the link for info on the Ascension..
