Thread: Help required hit a brick wall

My Father who I never knew was Alfred William Davies now deceased 1960, was married to Edna Iona Davies, nee Rogers, had a Daughter Jean Margaret Davies born 1943. This all traceable no problem but I cannot get any further than this. I dont know if Jean married or where she lives. She was born in Leamington Spa as far as I know at 29 Park Road. As she is my half sister, I would like to meet her to find out about my father and what sort of a person he was. He was a Manager of a war time factory in Birmingham during the war, thats how my mother met him.



Grateful for tips or help you could give me.

There are no Jean Margaret Davies marriages registered on Ancestry and there are 153 Jean M Davies marriages between 1960-80. Any or none of them might be yours.



I would guess it might be easier to place letters in local newspapers asking if people know of her, or contacting the Salvation Army who are good at tracing family members.

Thanks for that, I guess it is the only step I can take now, I cant find a death either for Edna Iona Davies (Rogers) Born 1910/11, I have been beaten all ways.

Where have you looked for Edna's death?

I have searched the Ancestry Web site, birth deaths and marriages, found the marriage, 1942, and his death certificate I have 12 Dec 1960 Warneford Hospital Leamington. Informant was Edna Davies widow of 29 Park Street Leamington.

I also have marriage certificate 14 March 1942, Alfred William Davies and Edna Iona Rogers (31) at time of marriage, both living at the time in Hansworth birmingham.
