Thread: Looking for Charles & Emma Lander (Nee Roper)

Hi



I wonder if someone may be able to help me with a problem I seem to be stuck on. I ahve been researching my husbands family tree and have ran into a problem finding any details for Charles and Emma Lander after their marriage in 1863.



Charles Lander was born in Markfield, Leicester in 1845, son of Henry and Amy. Emma Lander (nee Roper) was born in Groby, Leicester in 1844 daughter of Thomas and Mary. They were married in the quarter ending December 1863.



I know they had four children all born in Markfield:

Albert, born 1863

Thomas Henry, born 1865

Jesse, born 1867

Joseph, born 1870



I have found census records for the four children in the Union Workhouse in Market Bosworth in 1871, but Charles and Emma are not on this census.



I have tried checking on variations of spelling (Launder, Lawnder, Sander etc.) but I've not been able to find anything at all, no death records or further census records so any help would be great.

Thanks for the death information, it does look like it's the right person with the dates. They must have stayed locally, so I'll have another dig through the Leicester census records, they must be on there somewhere!
