Default Need help finding Rudolff Illeg,

I am looking for any info on a man whose name is Rudolff Illeg, who was born in Germany in the late 1600's or early 1700's. He came over to US in 1732 on a ship called the Dragon. If you can help me that would be wonderful.

Default re: Need help finding Rudolff Illeg,

    Hi Doledu1,

    Welcome

The Rudolff Illeg that arrives in the US on the Ship called the Dragon in 1732 is listed as Hans Rudolph Illig

    Pennsylvania Foreign Oaths of Allegiance

    Name: Hans Rudolph Illig

    Ship: DRAGON

    Captain: HARGRAVE

    Place: ROTTERDAM

    Date: SEPT. 30, 1732

There are sources that give Hans Rudolph Illig as one of a number of Palatines (none others with the name Illig or Illeg) imported on the ship Dragon which began its journey in Rotterdam, stopping at Plymouth before journeying on.

However, things get really confusing from there on in I will give you what I have found – maybe it will somehow help with your search if you have other family records that possibly tie in with some of these other names/places.

    IGI has the following record:-

    Hans Rudolff Illeg

Birth: 28 JUL 1700 Adelshofen, Heidelberg, Baden

    Death: Before 28 AUG 1749

    Marriage:

Spouse: Maria Catharina Auer B: 1696 Emetzheim, Mittelfranken, Bayern

Marriage: 16 NOV 1728, Easton, Northampton, Pennsylvania

But this marriage would of course, be prior to the 1732 immigration and it also gives the following as being a child from the marriage

    Georg Michael Illig

Birth: 07 AUG 1729 , Adelshofen, Heidelberg, Baden

Which again would not make much sense!!!!!

However, if you search George Michael Illig on other sources you get the following immigration record:-

Johann Georg Michael Illig Year: 1732 Place: Pennsylvania Family Members: Wife Maria Catharina Auer; Son Johann Georg Michael; Son Georg Friedrich Primary Immigrant: Illig, Johann Rudolph

Which totally doesn’t make sense. However, there is another much more promising record of marriage on IGI

    Hans Rudolph Illig

Birth: 28 July 1700, Adelshofen, Heidelberg, Baden

    Death: Before 28 Aug 1749

    Marriage

    Spouse: Maria Magdalena Knecht

Marriage: 1729 Lower Saucon, Northampton, Pennsylvania

But be aware that there are 3 other entries on that site which give the same spouse but varying different dates.

If I can help in confusing things further please let me know
