    Default haynes

    Searching my family history

1841 cencus detailes of my family search

    Varteh Hill Monmouthshire Wales

    William Haynes age 50 (Miner)

    Sarah haynes age 40

    Edwin Haynes age 15

    Phillip Haynes age 8

    Maria Haynes age 4

    Lewisa Haynes age 2

    William Haynes age 1

Lewisa is my great great grandmother she could not read or write and the spelling of her full name was changed on her marriage certificate in Australia, more than likely the minister spelt it as it sounded to Louisa Haines.

Would like to know information on family from 1841 until her marriage in Australia in 1864.

Would like to known when she emigrated to Australia and on what vessel.

Any information on her parents where married & maiden name of Sarah her mother. On Sarahs grave stone in Australia there is three surnames spelt Haynes (Haines) & Davis ?

Sarahs maiden name could be Winwood or simular ?

Have information on Louisa, Maria and Phillip in Australia.

Any information on this family would be appreciated.

    Jim

    Hi,

I have found this record of a marriage. Place matches with that on 1841 census and Sarah's surname is similar to the Winwood you have suggested.

    Hello again,

I have found the family in Wales in 1851. It seems that William Snr may have died and Sarah has remarried an Edward Davis-which matches the info on the grave stone.

Some strange spelling of Louisa's name!

A Sarah Haines married an Edward Davies in 1848 in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.

    Hi

I'm assuming the 1864 marriage was in Victoria to Jas Absalom, had 6 chn 1861-73?

There are two possibles for her travelling alone

Miss HAYNES aged 27 in July 1863 aboard "Star of India"

Miss HAYNES aged 23 in Jan 1859 aboard 'Magna Bona"

When and where did her mum Sarah die? In Victoria? Can't see them arriving or her death to 1888.

There was a John Haines DAVIES who was married to Sarah PRICE and had chn in Brunswick, Victoria in the late 1870s. ???
