After watching WDYTYA on Sunday night here about the actor David Suchet where he found his GGG Grandfather was a Master Mariner who's ship the Hannah sunk off the coast of Suffolk in a terrible storm on the 28 May 1860, many ships went down in that storm with terrible loss of life. I remembered that my GG Grandfather Abraham Asplet died on the Schooner Louisa in 1860. The only information I have is that. No idea where, if the ship sank or if he was the only one to die.
I was wondering if anyone could see if they could find out whether the Louisa sank and if so where and when. I don't have easy access to Lloyds Registers. The only Register I can find online free is the Captains list where they were still captains sailing in 1869. On that I found Abraham's sons 4 of the 5 were ships captains and they are all there. Obviously Abraham is not there. Abraham was born 11 June 1803 St Peter Jersey Channel Islands.
Does anyone have easy access to Lloyds shipping lists for shipwrecks to see if the Louisa sank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
