Can anyone help me find John Bunkill, married Mary Curtis 1764 in Hindolveston norfolk, died 1792 Hindol. age on death if correct 52. Not born in Hindol, unless I,ve missed it, desperate for his baptism.

Nothing on the Norfolk Transcription Archive.

but its so vague it could just be guesswork.



Nothing on Freereg either. The next step would be a trip to the Norfolk Records Office in Norwich or to your local LDS family history centre, to look at the parish registers around Hindolveston. You have to order them in advance at the LDS except the one in London which has a vast collection.

That "member of the LDS Church" was me. And yes, the date & place was generated by a computer, based on when he married, and where his children were born. He could well have been born in Hindolveston, but on 31 July 1892, the beautiful church in Hindolveston collapse during a bad storm. We are lucky to have any records, but my guess is that the earliest records were damaged beyond salvage at that time. The few records that exist prior to 1783 are incomplete and jump around from one year to another. I am doing a study on the genealogy of the parish of Hindolveston, up to 1900. I would be glad to share what information I have.
