Thread: Trying to find great uncle's death in Germany

Hi all



I'm trying to trace a death record for my great uncle who I believe died in Germany.



He was born in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire in April 1914, married a German lady in 1951 and I believe he moved to Germany during the 1950s.



I cannot trace a death for the right name and year of birth in the England and Wales records and am now moving onto Germany where he may have lived and died.



Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding a death record? I'm familiar with the French and Belgian records where you need a specific town or district in which the event took place; is this the same in Germany?

Thanks, I've got all those details (probably should have explained that, sorry) but don't know where to start to look in Germany.



Don't have a clue where his wife was born.
