Hi Jen,
Were Dennis's parents James born abt 1828 Athlone, Ireland and Margrett ? born abt 1830 London. If so have you found their marriage reg ? or do you have Dennis's birth
cert. Who did Dennis marry - is wife Ann? There are census for Dennis and Ann with ages for Dennis ranging from 1848 -1852. So it is possible he was not born before the census in 1851. I would suggest getting his birth certificate before you look any further.

I do have Dennis's (1849) parents as James 1829 Wicklow Ireland and Margaret?.Didn't know where born or what year?
He did mary Anne Dobbs in Manchester Dec 1868.
