We have the same person.

I am the Walter Joughin born in 1929 and my mother Winifred was divorced on grounds of adultery with Thomas Platt. I already have the divorce certificate.

I hadn't known that she married Thomas and moved to Lancashire. I have a new avenue to explore.

I'm still waiting for her marriage certificate to arrive so that I can explore her ancestry.

I thought I had Winifred sorted out but it seems the ancestry I found is for another Winifred born August 1908.I have sent for a birth certificate but with no evidence of date of birth how can I be sure the certificate will be for the right one?.
None of the search engines I've tried seem to have heard of Winifred.

Once you have the marriage certificate you will be able o work out the approx year of birth and you will also have her father's forename.....which may hopefully will get you back to the 1911 and earlier census records........

Once some of Winifred's family backfround is known you can then look to eliminate births that do not fit the scenario
