am trying to find birthplace ect of a jasper sutherland from caithness scotland. i know he was born in 1799 and was married to a jane gunn . any info would be appreciated. thank you.

For what it's worth, Juliamac, I think the census posted by Teresa is most likely the people you are looking for. Jasper is/was not a common name, Christian on the census return is female, and ....... spelling as it was then Christian is probably Christina, as for Jane/Jean enumerators wrote what they heard and Jane could easily be misheard as Jean. Also the area (Caithness is right)
