Default HIND in Burton on Trent

I am new to Ancestry Aid, so hope I am doing this right!

I am searching for information re a Jeramiah HIND b 1788 Burton on Trent, parents btb Joseph & Jane Hind.

Jeramiah married Mary Milnes 1792-1876 in 1814, again I believe at Burton on Trent.

Mary & jeramiah had two children, Joesph Hin in 1815 and Jane in 1818.

The next record I find is the re-marriage of Mary to James Bladon in 1826 in Burton on Trent.

Now the mystery is: what happened to Jeramiah Hind between 1818 and 1826? I can find no record of his death. Can anyone assist, please ?

I assume that you have Mary's second marriage certificate and it states she is a widow?

Else she could be another Mary Hind (eg Mary Hinde b 1894) that married J Bladon.

Playing devils advocate, sometimes we assume the most obvious answer is correct when it isn't always.

Likewise, do you have the marriage records of their children as those will say if he is deceased.

Such information may allow you to close the window of his death dates slightly.

Sometimes the only way to find an early death is to find a burial record.

Whether these are held at county, level or local levels such as a main library reference department, or just at individual churches, depends how lucky you are.

I found this marriage in Mansfield, but not the other to James Bladon. Where did you get the marriage from ?

I found the IGI that dariab is refering to:

James Bladon/Mary HIND, Burton on Trent, 7 Apr 1826.

You probably searched like I did first using her maiden name?

I did look using her Married name and found the following :

IGI Individual Record FamilySearch™ International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles

MARY HINT Marriages: Spouse: THOMAS SIDDAL

Marriage: 06 JUN 1826 Mansfield, Nottingham, England

I suppose Hint might be a transcript error the only way to be certain is to look at the Parish records.

Hi everyone who was kind enough to try and help.

I have solved the mystery ! Somehow I ended up on a website for St Peters Church in Stepenhill, near Burton on Trent.

There I found Jeramiah Hind, buried, in a grave with his maternal grandfather, Thomas Taylor and his Aunt Sarah Taylor. I found his father Joseph Hind who had died aged only 25, in a grave with his(Joseph) wife Jane who had re-married and died aged 74, and for some reason was buried with her first husband.

So the mystery is finally solved, and so when I visit the UK in Sept I will now be able to visit my G x 3 grandfather's grave.

His first wife Mary Milnes who married James Bladon is buried elsewhere.

Congratulations on your find, maybe you can start some new branches

If you are going to visit the church it might be worth contacting them before hand, with your luck they may still hold the parish registers
