    Default Emma Hale abt 1847-48

I would like to find a birth for Emma. She married William Tindall 25 Dec 1880 Brentford Middlesex.Certificate gives her age as 32 and father was Henry Hales deceased a brewers servant.William was born 1849 Lambeth London.I tried the census for the family but could find nothing consistant.

    Thanks

    Thanks Lady Marion.

I managed to find the correct family and Emma consistently gives her place of birth as Chiswick which is in Brentford. This probably rules out Royston and Mitford(wrong counties).Lambeth looks as the best but is on the wrong side of the river.

Usually the earlier the census the more reliable the birthplace, but 1851 has two possibles, one is a niece and one a granddaughter, so you would need to look at the extended family to see which Emma is likeliest to be yours.

was looking for henry hales to see if that helped. looked for marriage in brentford area and could only find this but it is after emmas birth

    Name:Henry HalesYear of Registration:1855 Quarter of Registration:Apr-May-Jun District:Brentford County:Middlesex Volume:3a Page:61

i can also see hales born in brentford middlesex but only starting 1856. If you put in emma 's born brentford in 1847 (+/- 2) ancestry brings up loads of them but none are hales. i am wondering if emma was registered with another surname

    Thanks Welshlady.

I notice that there is a marriage for a Henry Hales -Shoreditch 1840 with an Elizabeth as a possible partner.1850 shows 2 Henry Hales deaths and also an Elizabeth Hales death. Not sure if they pertain to Emma but may be reason she is not shown with parents in 1851.None connect to Brentford.
