Thread: BMD Australia

If possible could someone point me in the right direction please, as not sure where to look, i am looking for BMD's for Australia from 1965 onwards, do they have a free website that i am able to look at or is there any of you brilliant helpers here able to find them for me. I cannot go backward on my family until i find a marriage as i need to know the wife's maiden name.

Have you done a search of the Help offered by members forum ? There are members in Australia doing BMD records. Why do you need the wife's maiden name to get further back ?

Hi Starlight, i need wife's maiden as she refers to my grandmother (now deceased) as auntie, so not sure if her mother/father was my grandmothers sister/brother, not even sure if this lady is still alive she is the only link i have to go back on family ancestors. Sorry have done a search in the members forum, just needed to know where i start first. Thank you for replying and also NOGGIN28 for that information will check them out.

The NSW BDM have dates 1788-1908 for births, 1788-1978 for deaths and 1788-1958 for marriages.



Queensland I think is 1829-1914 for births and to 1929 for deaths and marriages.



Western Australia also has some of their indexes available online.
