I have a marriage which took place at Christchurch, Greyfriars, Newgate. The church was bombed in the 2nd WW and no longer exists, does anyone know where the church records would be held.
Many thanks - Teresa

Hi Teresa
This link appears to provide the answer to your question - looks like they were destroyed - however, some are available on IGI

Many thanks Geniegenie - what a shame they were destroyed!

Absolutely, and how lucky are future generations, that today there are so many different forms of backup and record keeping that hopefully, they won't have the same problems tracing the records for us![]()
There are some records for Greyfriars Newgate on microfilm at the Guildhall Library, but I believe some of the Guildhall collection have been transferred to the London Metropolitan Archives.
Ruins of the church are still there.
Thank you Helen. I will give them a ring, hopefully they will have them.
Regards - Teresa
