    Hi Will,

I have done a search for a William Allen b. 1813 on Ancestry. He came up in someone's tree. Frances died in 1841, but they did have 1 son, William, who was born 10/03/1838 in Leicester.

According to them, he married a Mary Ann Kimberlin on 31st October 1859.

They had 4 children- Thomas, Edwin, Frances and Mary Ann.

Does this match with what you have?

I'm still looking on the censuses for ideas about occupations.

hi thanks for your research on william allen. all that you have found out matches my records, but with various additions and differences. frances and william may have had two daughters, eliza born 26/7/1837 and sarah born 20/11/1839. I haven't been able to find any trace of them apart from their birth dates. As Frances died in 1841, maybe they either died in childhood or were adopted. w and F were married in 1835 in leicester so all three births could have been possible. I would like to find outif they did indeed surviveand what happened to william ie when he died and where. He was described as a labourer on the wedding cert of william and mary ann kimberlin dated 31/10/1859 in All saints church Leicester. Thanks for your research so far Will
