Hi Jenny, Just wondered what your connection was to Christina as I am a descendent of hers? She is my great great grandmother on my mothers side. My gran was named after her but she spelt the name Shirridan. Christina married James Johnstone and had my great gran Maggie in 1887 along with Robert, Charles, David and William. My great Aunt still lives in Tillicoultry. Lovely to hear how you are connected.
Deborah
Hi Deborah
well where do I start
My husbands ggg grandfather Nicholas Cereghino b:1845 in Italy went to Ireland and married Rose McAlister, there first child was born 1864 so I think they would have married just before that.
They had two more children in Ireland and then were next in Scotland where they had Teresa 1869, one of teresa's middle names was christina, this is where the confusion comes in, Ann, another person with a Christina Sheridan in her tree, uses this site and sent me a message.
Cereghino was anglisised to Sheridan between 1871 and 1881 while the very large family were living in Ancoats, Manchester.
There are still a large number of living Sheridans still here around us.
I tried to disprove Ann's connection but Christina's first son to Albert Bradley, Thomas, is living with my Teresa and family state as nephew in a later census.
O, it is getting very complicated isn't it
well I dont think it is the same Christina as yours but where did your Sheridan name originate from?
hope u understand some of that Deb
