Thread: Winifred Elsie Edmonds - nurse.

I have a Winifred Elisie Edmonds born in Hampshire on 23 Nov 1899. She married Albert William Frampton on 16 May 1922. From family history it would appear that Winifred worked as a Nurse on ships, possibily during WWI and up until her marriage. How will I find any info on which ships she might have been on and her position. Unsure it it was Naval ships or Passenger ships or a bit of both.

She was most likely to have been an employee of one of the cruise liner companies although a few women were employed by the Navy after 1884.

Southampton Records Office may be able to help although will charge a search fee. I see she was born in the Lymington Reg Dist, so this would be the nearest port. Southampton holds the Central Index Register of Seamen from 1918-1941.
