Searching for great grandfather WILLIAM SMITH born in 1837 in Ingleby Greenhow,married Elizabeth Orton,had at least 2 children Edward and Ettie Orton.Listed as farmer and/or farm bailiff,was at The Shoulder of Mutton pub,Thornton le Beans on 1911 census( so know death sometime after this)with Ettie and Edward.My grandfather George Sanderson had the pub

If this is the right peron you will also find sibblings. Have you checked BMD for William & Elizabeths wedding, you could then get the cert and find the names of the fathers. Where was Elizabeth from and is it Orton/Horton ?

Its Orton born Seamer we think,Seamer by Stokesly,not the Scarborough one although unproven,will have another search .Thannks
