Thread: Narroway/Bouette

Just thought I would explore this avenue....looking in particular for information about a Mary Susanna Narroway who married a Florentine Bouette, they had a son Florence, sadly she seemed to have died either around the time of the birth or soon after.

On their marriage certificate says she was of full age, that was 1839.



I would be interested if anyone new anything

Where were they married ie place?

They married 17th June 1839 at the Partish Church in the Parish of St Luke Middlesex.

Her Dad was William Narroway His Dad was Paul Francois Bouette

I am trying to find out about Mary as she appears to have died around the time of sons birth. Yet cannot find any details.

St Luke Chelsea or St Luke Old Street?



I guess the parish burial registers might help if you can't find her death cert. I am guessing Bouette might have been misrecorded or indexed.

I am guessing its St Luke Old Street. I think I have found your Mary in 1841 census and her death - please read later posts.



I think the surname is BONETTE.

Florentin and Mary Bouette, mistranscribed as Bonette, both aged 25 (though 1841 rounded ages down) are in Golden Lane in 1841 with Louis aged 1. It says Florentin was born in France and is an interpreter.

has Florentine Bonette age 35 and children Louis 10 and Florence 9, Emma 7, Thomas 5 and Francis aged 1 month.



The address is 10 Golden Lane and Florentine is working as a grocer.





Florentine's wife is called Jane. I am guessing that as there is a large gap between birth of Thomas and Francis that is when your Mary died.

Or maybe not. Only marriage on Ancestry for Florentine Bonette is Sep quarter 1842 in Shoreditch. There are 3 Janes on the page

Are you sure the name was Bouette and not Bonette?



There are also deaths for Florentine, Florence and Jane under surname Bonette on ancestry.

www.familysearch.org has this family Florentin & Jane in 1881 census living in Florentine Villas, Leyton, Essex (which fits with death I found for Florentin in West Ham reg district). Florentin is a retired grocer. With them are children Alfred 19 surgical instrument maker and Caroline 14, both born Cripplegate, city of London.
