Hi,

Trying to identify the parents of gt/g/mother.

Violet Dorothy Dear b May 4 1909 in Hitchin Herts.

Father was Albert or Arthur Dear, Mother Nellie Cox, no dates for either.

Margaret b1908

Later children born after 1911 Dorothy, Helena, Joan.

Not sure about Thomas and a Rawley/Riley.

Anything on the 1911 would be good, anything earlier for the parents marriage and possibly 1881 would be fantastic.

There are 73 people surname Dear living in Hitchin in 1911. No Eleanor or Nellies, Alfred or Arthurs.



I would strongly recommend that you get Violet's birth cert which will give you her parents names and her father's occupation which will help to find them and/or buy some payperview credits to see Violet's household in 1911.



The transcript will tell you how long her parents were married which would help you trace the marriage, as well as listing any siblings.

Hi all,

the clincher for this trace was the fact that JEUEL had written Violet spelt wrong (Voilet) and WELSHLADY had Margaret spelt wrong (Margest).

Knowing these were good names is why they wouldn't show up on the searches.

As for Albert/Arthur actually Tom and Helena being Nellie:- No one said it was going to be easy!
