Thread: Good Family of West Berkshire

I am current;y researching the GOOD(E) family who appear in Cholsey until 1765. The earliest parish record I can find is a marriage between William Good and Sarah Cox in November 1765. There appear to be no Goods in the parish registers before then - Can anyone help me find where they were before?



I visited the Berkshire Record Office today and found a whole host of Goods living in the Parish of Chieveley with marriages going back to 1691. Can anyone help connect the Goods from the two areas?

There is a William Good, Christening: 09 NOV 1742 Hurst, Berkshire, England father Tho and Eliz. could this be your William. I don't know where Hurst is but it might be a ajoining Cholsey & Chieveley. There are a few Goodes in Hurst.



Try this site it may take sometime because you will have to look at a number of parishes.

Many thanks for this I think you may be right about this - though Hurst is in East berkshire and Chieveley is in West Berkshire. Now to find Thomas and Elizabeth's marriage date - thanks again Hearne

Hi, I can't connect them, but I can tell you that Sarah Good 1736 Chieveley, dau of Charles Good and Ann Anstil, marr Stephen Sellwood in 1764. Stephen is part of my Sellwood family. Charles and Ann marr in 1730.
