this is my second try finding my ancesters,i tried finding myfather,its like he did not exist,he was born in caerphilly glamorgan 1920,he died 1971 in roehamton hospital 1971,his name was frederick benjamin taylor,his father had the same name he was born approx 1900 somewhere in london,i would be glad of any help to get started

How certain are you of the year 1900? I ask as there was more than one Frederick Benjamin Taylor born between 1890 - 1900 in the London area. I want to be certain we trace the right one.

I have checked the records for your father’s birth and I wonder if this is why you have not been able to find trace of him?



There is only one Frederick Taylor Born in 1920 in Glamorgan which gives a mother’s maiden name of Ribton – but when you follow that name back the only Ribton/Taylor marriage is a William H R Taylor who marries a Gladys I Ribton registered in Cardiff in 1915.



However, when I checked for his death in Roehampton in 1971 the only Frederick Benjamin Taylor death registered in that year is the following:-



Frederick Benjamin Taylor B: 14 September 1918 Death registered Q1 in Wandsworth which fits with a Roehampton death.



Back to the birth records again and I found an entry for a Frederick B Taylor born Q3 – July/August/Sept. 1918 Mother’s Maiden Name: Brown - but this birth was registered in Pontypridd – this registration district spans the counties of Glamorgan and Mid Glamorgan. Caerphilly births would be registered in Cardiff.



Following this birth back for a marriage I found a match – Frederick B Taylor marries Elizabeth J Brown in Pontypridd Q4 1916.



His death may simply have been registered Frederick Taylor of course and I may be just taking you for a leap in the dark but I wonder if you have any references to his birthday – day and month, if not year or date of death – or possibly the name of your Grandmother! And the answer to Slizzy’s question above re: your Grandfather would be a great help.
