my search has reached my great grandfather james haycock born brigport shropshire 1840,trying to find his father without success,could you help

Could this be him in 1841?



Registration district: Bridgnorth Sub-registration district: Chetton



John Haycock 33 Sarah Haycock 25 Kenney Haycock 5 James Haycock 3 Jane Haycock 6 Mo

I think John died between 1841-43. I'll do further searches to try to prove it.

How do you know James was born 1840, did you get it, from a census? Should Brigport be Bridgenorth I can't find Brigport in Salop. Did you find the surname changing eg Haycock, Haycocks, Haycox. In jun 1846 there was a James Haycocks son of John and Sarah who died in jan 1847. there was another son James Henry born to the same couple in nov 1847. At the time of both births they were in West Felton, Salop.



I think slizzy as the right person in the 1841 census. But its worth checking.

I cannot find a James Haycock born abt 1840 in Bridgnorth on the igi (Mormon's website).



The only one I can find is a submitted record which says born 1851 Chetton, Bridgnorth.

is this the family we are looking at ?

If you are sure that your James married Ellen, the marriage certificate should give you James' age and the name of his father.
