    Default James Edward Laker 1901 - 1902

James was born 2nd March 1901 at 9, Purley Road, Croydon. proven by birth certificate..but a bit of a mystery surrounds this as on the 1901 Census, it only shows great grandfather Edward Green, great grandmother Mary Ann, James aged 15 (1886), Lily Green and Boarder George, George.

I have the print out from Findmypast, with the exact address confirmed 9, Purley Road, Croydon, but my Lakers are no where to be seen....

Has anyone any ideas as to why? Are pages of the 1901 Census missing.?

    thanks for your time

Just to confirm I have also looked through every single household on Ancestry in Purley Road and Brighton Road for a trace of any Lakers, nothing..Um........

    Hi Dottie,

My own father was born at his father's sister's house. She was married so had a different surname. My father's family did not live down that road either.
