    Default Re-Charles Pitman

    Hello everyone

Looking for any help with info on Charles Pitman (b1823) in Gloustershire or Somerset married Maria Fuller in St Hellier and died 1893 in St Savior, and was a tailor. Want to find out about his parents and siblings and why he went to St Hellier.

    Thank you

    Kim

You could look here to see if you can find his baptism/christening.

    Hello Slizzy

Thank you very much for your help, I have come across the same census in 41 I was unsure it was him and could never find any parents the site you have given me has a possible birth and parents marriage, from 51 I know I have the right Charles because of his children Robert's my link. I still would like to find out why he went to St Hellier he's back in London by 61.

    Again thanks for your time

People usually move to get a job or improve their employment prospects or for family reasons (ie they move to their wife/husband's home town or to be nearer family members)
