Can someone help me please? I am interested in obtaining a copy of marriage certificate of William Forse (or Force) and Mary Ann Fowler. I believe the were married 11.11.1810 in Bristol, St James, UK. Thanks a lot in advance! Carlos

Hello,
Marriage certificates were not issued until after Civil Registration in 1837. For a copy of the Church marriage you will need to contact the relevant Record Office (Bristol?) and request a copy of the page on which it is entered. A charge will be made for this. At that time only the couple and the witnesses names were recorded, sometimes whether single or widowed. Father's names were not recorded until very much later.
Yours
Victoria

You won't get a marriage certificate so early (they only came in 1837) but you can obtain a copy of the Marriage Register Entry - though to be honest they don't give much information beyond names, and witnesses. Bristol Records Office are restricting their research services till Sept 09 - possibly best go to their website for info. Someone here may be able to go to the Records office for you.
Good Luck![]()
