Thread: Agnes Gorley

I am anxious to acquire as much information as is possible on my Great-Great Grandmother. She was AGNES GORLEY, born Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumphries circa 1847 - Died Llysfaen 4.2.1918. The "Marriage Certificate" shows her father as being James GORLEY, a Coachman. She was wed to one Shadrach ROBERTS, b. 1847 Llysfaen (North Wales).



I have been unable to glean any information whatsoever about AGNES GORLEY other than the aforementioned details.



Can anyone assist me in determining her roots and relatives?

Have you tried looking under alternative spellings? I noticed a few Scot's named Gourley/Gourlay.

The only near one I can find is Agnes Gouley 31/03/1844 Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumphries but her parents are John and Jean Bell. I cannot find an Agnes Gorley. The Agnes that I did find is also on the 1851 census but her age is given as 6 months. I haven't any credits at the moment to check the image.

Hi Gwyn, my name is also Gwyn ROBERTS and i have just started researching my family tree, my g g grandfather was shadrack roberts, who was married to Agnes Gorley, i did not know how many children they had, all i knew ofcourse was my grandfather john, and his twin brother tom, my grandfather john had 10 children, my father leslie being the youngest, i have not as yet got any information on Agnes's family, i'd like to hear from you. thanks Gwyn Roberts.
