Please can someone help me?? I am looking to find where James McGrandles married to Margret Holmes on 10th August 1851 was born!! Any info i have found on him just says he was born in ireland! He was married and lived in old monkland Lanarkshire

Has he any siblings? If you work through them and all their census entries that they are, one one might record the place of origin for at least one of them. Its worked for me - twice (but took a lot of going through census entries.) Best wishes.
