Hi Lesley
Just want to check if I have found the "right" John Walker Snr - there were a few around in Heanor born in the early 1800s!! You say that you have details about his son John B:1833 - do you know if he had any siblings?
Thanks
Hi Lesley
Don't worry about previous post for further information - I found the publication you mentioned so now have the info I need.
Here is where I am at - I have checked the crimean war veteran pension records and no mention of John I'm afraid. The following are the census records for John Snr. that I have been able to locate tonight - just to note that it appears that Hannah jnr later refers to herself as Sarah as mentioned in "A History of Delaware". It appears that John Snr "may" have been born a little later than Philip recalled. You will see that as mentioned in the book John Snr is a Stocking knitter!!!
