Thread: Look up on Marriage pre 1837 please

Hi,



I am trying to trace back the mother of Edward Marks born Surrey abt 1800.



Edwards father John Marks born abt 1756 Kennington area, Surrey married a Martha Smith in 1828 and Pallots record shows that they were both widowed at the time.



There is the possibility that John Marks could have had several wives just like his son Edward (Edward had 5 spouse, and 4 marriages)



I would be most grateul is there is someone that has access to these early records that can help me please. All the Marks stayed in the Lambeth area so I am hoping it is not too much of a trawl.

Have you tried the IGI indexes?



I've had a quick look, but I'm not sure about places etc, but you may know more. Some John Marls do come up!

I have looked on IGI but there is nothing there for the John Marks I am hunting.
