Default Burial Index Search for Jacob/John Roder 1956

Could anyone tell me where or even if, my Grand uncle Jacob Roder (also known as John) who died 13th March 1956 in Barnet is buried?

He was Jewish so I presume he was buried, but spent most of his life in hospital so it is possible he had a paupers grave or council cremation?

His brothers all lived around London so I assume it would be around London, Middlesex, or Surrey.

    Thanks

    Phil

Have you looked on the Jewish Gen website, it has burials for several Jewish cemeteries in London.

I have already used the JewishGen Burial index.

It is a very useful site.

In fact, I used it to find two Grand uncles and my Great Grand parents who were all buried in the same cemetery. I then got my brother to visit there and photograph the headstones since I live overseas.

This allowed me to get the Hebrew translated by friends and find my Great Great Grand father's names.

It is common practice to write 'ben/bat' (son/daughter) of 'who ever' (father), so if you find a Jewish grave you get a bonus of a start on the previous generation!

Unfortunately, Jacob was hospitalised during WW1 and never left, until his death in 1956.

I therefore suspect that the cheapest option as to the disposal of his body was performed as all my 2nd cousins that I have found, were unaware they had a grand uncle called Jacob.

He joined the Army under the name John Roder (again it is common practice for Jews to adopt a non religious name for use in society, so frequently you find their names writen in Hebrew and English being different).

It is a pity however that Jacob/John is the only relative that I can't find his final resting place, especially as he was the only one injured in WW1 (excluding those with names on Memorials in Europe with no graves).

Thanks for your advice, but I suspect it was a council disposal of the body, question is which council!
