James Smith born 1871 Portsmouth moved to Sunderland and was on 1891 census living with his wife Margaret. She was of the same age and born Durham and then they disappear. He was a glass maker.

Could his full name be Samuel James? This guy was a brewers spirit cellarman. Margaret was born Sunderland.

Hi thanks for that but as far as I know he was James but I will investigate. Smith is an awful surname,eh?
