Thread: Great Grandfather was a station master

Not sure where to start but I am lead to believe my gt. grandfather was a station master at Pulborough Station in Sussex. Does anyone have any ideas where I could find out ? Thank you

Was his name Joseph Brown, by any chance?

Find out which railway line went through Pulborough at the time and then see whether staff records survived. This might help:

Following on from other replies, if you post his name, and approx year of birth we can look for him on census records. That's assuming he would have been a Station Master, or railway employee in 1901 or before.

Hello - no very sorry, I've just got a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate, his father was Edward Hotston.
