Thread: Robert Allan of Lanarkshire, Scotland

I have been looking for my great grandfather Robert Allan born in 1853. I know little of his early life in Scotland. He grew up on a mixed farm in or near Airdrie, Lanark, Scotland. I do not know his parent's names or any siblings. Robert emigrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at the age of 18 in 1871. He lived to be 89 and had a large family and several farms in Keysborough.



Robert Allan seems to be a very common name!



Can anyone assist with any information re Scottish family, emigration ship etc.
