Thread: Julia Leighs b 1870 Also called Julia Austin

Could someone please have a look for me in 1891 for a Julia Leighs b 1870 Egham Surrey? In 1881 she was living with her mother Emma Austin nee Leighs in Cookham, and had taken her stepfather's surname of Austin. I suspect she married in 1892 in Rochford Reg Dist (freebmd) as Leighs but before I order what could be another wrong cert, I would like to check that at least she was still alive then. She is not with her parents in 1891.

Whoops - so I see she is still missing in 1891 - her name just rang bells!!!!



I've checked through most Julias in 1891 and haven't found a match - she must be mistranscribed - will have another search

In 1901 she said born Windsor Berks. She was actually born in part of Egham which was a subdistrict of Windsor.

will have to think of other ways the name could be written -or mistranscribed

Thank you for looking. If she was in service, she may have been missed, or known by some other name as was quite common in some big houses. I will get the marriage cert and see where she was living then.
