Thread: Macfarlane/McGown

Please help I am trying to find the birth of Malcolm Macfarlane,all I have on him is he married Mary McGown or McGoun in Kilnamarnock Dunbarton,Scotland in 1814

As Pejay says, it might be worth looking at the parish records. I have had a look on Scotlandspeoples but they do not seem to be there.

who married a Mary Mcgowan b 1795 also from Buchanan. Died 18/9/1832.

The same Malcolm is also on the IGI as been born 24/2/1791 in Buchanan

Stirling, parents John Mcfarlan and Catherine Monrovv? this could be a transcription error as it is an extracted record. There are also a few member submitted Malcolm Macfarlane's, I notice they have her down as Catherine Monroe. Whilst this could very possibly be correct it could also be guesswork. If you think this is the right Malcolm it may be worth you checking parish registers for Buchanan

Thanks this could be my Malcolm's parents,will need to some more searching to make sure.
